The painting depicts a tin of Spam.
Spam was first introduced in 1937 as a brand of canned cooked pork made by Hormel Food Corporation. 
The Spam name was later uses to describe unsolicited emails and content after a Monty Python sketch in 1976. The sketch used the brand name through out turning it into a repetitive song using the word Spam.
